My thoughts on political infidelity

I could really care less if a politician is unfaithful. I said this very thing about Clinton. If he gets a blow job in the oval office, I could care less. I didn't get riled up when the Republican politicians did either.

What does dance on my last nerve is when a politican has an affair....after having criticized and chastised others for having an affair.... called for said politician to resign.... and yet has no intention of resigning themselves.

This has been the case with Ensign and Sanford. They were very vocal of both Republicans and Democrats who have been caught in an affair and called for the resignation of them (Bill Clinton and Larry Craig in particular.).. and now they expect to keep their jobs and be forgiven. Ensign and Sanford have some questionable things as far as using money that wasn't theirs to either perpetuate the affair or cover it up.

I couldn't agree more.

Honestly, what they do in their bed is none of my business.

However, I'm sick in tired of the hypocrites who ask for public forgiveness...on tv no less, and then expect to continue as if God just pardoned them.

We've reverted to such a puritanical country, it's ridiculous. We're SO UPTIGHT about who's sleeping with who. Honestly, what business is it of ours, and why do they think I need to see a week's worth of news about his affair and subsequent apology?

They think were just a bunch of idiots. You are only apologizing because you were caught. Who cares? The person you need to apologize to is your wife not the American public.

It just makes me nauseous.

I'm with ya, MG and Jen, what I hate is the hypocrisy of it all. I swear, if I hear one more time that the GOP is the party of family values, I'm gonna hit someone...

MG is absolutely right. I don't expect perfection, and this is a morality issue. It's between the schmuck and his wife. And, Jeez, do we really need the gory details??? Who the hell let that guy out there to ramble on about his tryst without a short and detail-free written statement???

I still can't believe he was stupid enough to email his poorly-written romantic missives. Which, unfortunately, we were then subjected to...over and over and over...there was no escape. Just like the Michael Jackson coverage...ridiculous.

It really is about time that the media stops treating us as if we were stupid. Amen, Jen and MG, couldn't agree more.
